Heroines - Première in Nassau
The music "Heroines" is a portrait of:
Lillian Gish features Perry’s music for her dramatic film about the French Revolution, Orphans of the Storm (1921), and Gloria Swanson’s portrait draws on music for the sophisticated comedy, Fine Manners (1926). The Hungarian actress Vilma Bánky is represented by richly romantic music from her film, The Night of Love (1927), and the suite ends with Perry’s musical salute to Marguerite de la Motte, who starred with Douglas Fairbanks in an adventure story about the Three Musketeers, The Iron Mask (1929).
